Wastewater troubles on the International Space Station

The toilet on the International Space Station has broken down and repair parts are, quite obviously, a long way away. NASA is sending repair parts along on Saturday's planned Space Shuttle launch, but the whole incident is a slightly-comical reminder that life without safe and reliable wastewater disposal systems is crude and unpleasant.
